Keeping Rural Youth

Healthy & Safe

Ag for Life is a nonprofit charitable organization working to help families and communities keep rural kids safe from injuries.

We believe anyone who gets to work, grow up on, or visit a farm, ranch or rural community is blessed. However every year there are preventable injuries and fatalities that occur due to many associated hazards. While some injury risks for youth exist in both urban and rural environments, there are major injury risks that are unique to rural settings such as rural machinery, livestock, open bodies of water, rural roads and suffocation hazards.

The goal of Ag for Life is to greatly reduce the number of rural and farm injury and fatalities by providing educational safety awareness programming to rural youth and their families. We're calling on everyone to come together, to raise awareness and to get involved. Let's work together to save lives!

  • Safety on the Farm e-learning course introduces learners to farm safety and emergency preparedness topics using interactive and engaging activities and scenarios.

  • The Young Farm Workers' Program (YFWP) workshop provides participants with hands-on, engaging, educational safety programming with the ultimate goal of eliminating farm site injuries and fatalities.

  • Ag for Life’s Rural Safety Unit is on-the-road and ready to travel to schools, communities, fairs, festivals and other events to educate, encourage and promote rural and farm safety.
